A Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) is a payment set up on your TD Credit Card Account to automatically pay a regularly recurring bill from a merchant.

A Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) is a payment set up to pay your minimum payment or balance in full of your TD Credit Card Account from your deposit account at any Canadian Financial Institution. Set up a PAD.

TD offers a fee-free, convenient service that allows you to automatically pay your regularly recurring bills through your TD Credit Card Account.

1. You need the last 4 digits of your TD Credit Card number
2. You need your TD Credit Card billing address
3. You need the name and address of each merchant
4. You need your account number, policy number or membership number from each merchant for each bill that you pay
5. You need the approximate amount of each of your most recent bills

Expand Are there merchants that do not accept Pre-Authorized Payment?

Yes, there are some merchants that do not accept credit cards either at all or specifically for Pre-Authorized Payments. However, most merchants such as phone companies, cable/satellite TV providers, insurance companies, security companies, newspapers and gym memberships, do allow payment of your regularly recurring bills from them through Pre-Authorized Payments.

Pre-Authorized Payments cannot be setup on your TD Credit Card Account to pay your loan payments or balances owing on any other credit cards you may have

I had set up Pre-Authorized Payments on my old TD Credit Card Account?

If you have received a new TD Credit Card Account number that is replacing a previous TD Credit Card Account number you can either complete the online form or call our toll free number to have your Pre-Authorized Payments transferred from your old TD Credit Card Account to your new TD Credit Card Account so you don't have to contact each merchant separately.

Expand How do I cancel a Pre-Authorized Payment?

You must contact the merchant directly to cancel or discontinue any Pre-Authorized Payments that you have set up with a merchant. Some merchants require advance notice to discontinue Pre-Authorized Payments, so allow additional time to make this change.
