Simply choose the TD Credit Cards you would like to apply for, and select the "Apply Now" button. You will be taken to an application page and asked to submit the necessary information and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Once complete, select "Accept" and your application has been sent for processing. You will be notified regarding the status of your application within seven to ten business days. Only Canadian residents are eligible for consideration.

Changes in the interest rate charged by the Bank of Canada can affect credit card interest rates, but not as frequently as these changes affect personal loan rates. To find out the interest rate currently being charged on your credit card, just call the customer service department of the card issuer. Your monthly statement will also show the applicable interest rate for the billing period.

How is the foreign currency exchange rate determined when I use my card for a foreign currency transaction?

If you have a Canadian dollar TD Credit Cards and use your Account to make purchases or obtain cash advances in a currency other than Canadian Dollars, the foreign currency will be converted to Canadian dollars as described in your TD Credit Card Cardholders Agreement and the converted amount, together with the applicable foreign exchange rate, will appear on your monthly statement. See the section “Foreign Currency Transactions” in your TD Credit Card Cardholder Agreements for complete details. If you have a TD U.S. Dollar Visa Card and use your Account to make purchases or obtain cash advances in a currency other than U.S. Dollars, the foreign currency will be converted to U.S. Dollars, in a similar manner as the Canadian dollar conversion above, as described in your TD U.S. Dollar Visa Cardholder Agreement and the converted amount, together with the applicable foreign exchange rate, will appear on your monthly statement. Can I use my credit card to get cash from an automated teller machine (ATM)?

Most bank credit cards can be set up to enable you to use an automated teller machine (ATM). In order to use your card in an ATM, you will require a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You can obtain a PIN for a TD Credit Cards by visiting a TD Canada Trust branch. For the TD U.S. Dollar Visa Card, you can phone 1-877-983-1871. To use your TD Credit Cards in an ATM, you simply insert the Card into the machine, then key in your PIN. These withdrawals are cash advances and accrue interest from the date they are posted to your Account. Fees apply to cash advance transactions.

As a security measure, PINs are not kept on our system. Therefore if you forget your PIN, a new one can be obtained at a TD Canada Trust branch. Please note, PINs for U.S. Dollar Visa Cards cannot be selected at a TD Canada Trust branch. If you require a PIN for your TD U.S. Dollar Visa Card, please call 1-877-983-1871.

Credit cards, such as TD Credit Cards, have an international network for handling these situations. As soon as you discover that your Card is missing, call the customer service number provided with your Card. For your convenience, these numbers are provided for TD Credit Card Cardholders below. Your Card will immediately be cancelled and arrangements will be made for its replacement. Some Cards also offer a CardAssist Card Registry Service to assist you in the event that your cards are lost or stolen.
