TD Balance Protection Plus1 and TD Balance Protection Insurance1 are two optional products designed to help you deal with your TD Credit Card(s) payment obligations in the event of a covered Involuntary Unemployment, Loss of Self-Employment Income, Total Disability, Loss of Life, Dismemberment or Critical Illness.
TD Balance Protection Insurance
Maximum amount of Insurance: $25,000
Monthly Premium Rate per $100 of average daily balance: $0.99 (plus taxes)
At age 66, $0.59 (plus taxes)
- One-time benefit payments to your credit card should you die, suffer a Dismemberment, Critical Illness (Acute Heart Attack, Cancer Life threatening or Stroke).
- Monthly benefit of 5% of your eligible outstanding balance for the following coverages: Involuntary Unemployment, Loss of Self-Employment Income and Total Disability. If you are still eligible for benefits after 12 months, these coverages could make a lump sum payment to your TD Credit Card Account up to a maximum of $25,000.

Reset PIN or change your online password
Your PIN for your Credit Card can be reset at any TD Canada Trust Green Machine (ATM)
or TD Canada Trust Branch.
If you’ve forgotten your PIN, simply visit a TD Canada Trust branch and a Customer Service
Representative will be happy to help you.
TD U.S. Dollar Visa* Cardholders only: Your PIN can only be changed/reset by calling our automated phone line (IVR) at 1-800-983-8472. You cannot change/reset your PIN at a TD Canada Trust Branch or TD Canada Trust Green Machine (ATM).
Online passwords can be reset by calling us at 1-800-983-8472.
Security while you shop online
Protect your online purchases with an additional layer of security with Verified by Visa for your TD Visa
Credit Card or Mastercard SecureCode for your TD MasterCard® Card By registering and creating a
password your Card can only be used by you to make online purchases. Signing up is available at no cost!
If you have a TD Visa Card
You'll be required to provide your Verified by Visa password every time when you make an online purchase from a participating retailer. If you do
not have a password, you will be prompted to
register for one with Verified by Visa
To register for Verified by Visa you’ll need:
- Your TD Visa Credit Card number
- The name embossed on your Card
- The last three digits on the signature panel on the back of your Card
- Your date of birth
If you have a TD CashBack MasterCard® Card
Once you have set up your own private
SecureCode you will be prompted to enter it
when you make a purchase at a participating
online retailer. Without the correct MasterCard
SecureCode, the purchase cannot be processed.
With this added protection, even if someone
knows your TD MasterCard Credit Card number,
they will not be able to use it for online purchases.
To register for MasterCard SecureCode you’ll need:
- Your TD MasterCard Card number
- The name embossed on your Card

TD Visa Mobile Alerts Service
A TD Visa Mobile Alert is an email message or mobile phone message sent to you through the TD Visa Mobile Alerts Service1 to help you manage and track transactions processed within the Visa payment network on your TD Visa Card.
You can choose to receive your alerts as a text message sent to your mobile device or as an email sent to your inbox. Alerts are sent in near real-time and include the amount of the transaction, the last two digits of the TD Visa Card used, and the merchant name and location (if available).
You can choose just one, some or all of the 6 types of alerts available:

Choose how you receive Alerts

All TD Canada Trust Credit Cards come with emergency Card replacement service. You can expect to receive an emergency replacement Card within 48 hours of your request.
Should there be fraudulent transactions on the Account, you will not be held responsible for the charges. Use your Card to shop anywhere – whether on the Internet or in stores – and know you’re protected from unauthorized use of your Card.
